Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you visit this website and register for the Global Nail Masters competition (“the Competition”).
1) Controller
- The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
- Amela Mucic, trading as Global Nail Masters / Studio Amelie
- Karlsbader Straße 19, 76532 Baden-Baden, Germany
- Phone: +49 176 44401669
- Email: globalnailmasters@gmail.com
2) Data we collect
- When you register for the Competition, we collect: your full name, email address, phone number, the country you represent (competition category) and your country of residence, and your postal address.
- Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card data ourselves.
3) Purpose and legal basis for processing
- To process your registration and enable your participation in the Competition — performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- To verify your identity and eligibility to compete under the Competition rules — legitimate interest in running a fair and secure competition, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and/or performance of a contract.
- To process your payment via Stripe — performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- To send you confirmation and organizational emails about the Competition via Resend — performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Where we ask for your separate consent (for example for marketing communications or for the use of your photo/video, see Section 6), the legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time.
4) Processors and recipients of your data
- We use the following processors to run the Competition and this website. We have, or will put in place, a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) with each of them.
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, Ireland. Stripe processes your name, address, and payment details to process your registration fee.
- Supabase — registration database hosting. Supabase, Inc. stores your registration data (name, contact details, country, address) in a secure database hosted within the EU.
- Resend — transactional email delivery. Resend sends you confirmation emails and organizational updates about your registration and the Competition on our behalf.
5) International data transfers
- Our database processor, Supabase, stores your registration data within the European Union / European Economic Area (EEA). Stripe and Resend may, as part of their own infrastructure, process data outside the EEA (for example in the United States); where this is the case, they rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where they participate) or on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Please see Stripe’s and Resend’s own privacy notices for details.
6) Photos, video, and publicity
- During the Competition, we take photographs and video recordings of participants, their work, and the event. By registering for the Competition, you consent to us using this material for publication on our website and social media channels (including but not limited to Instagram and Facebook) and in promotional and press materials relating to the Competition and future editions of it.
- The legal basis for this processing is your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, given by registering for the Competition. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by contacting us; this does not affect the lawfulness of any publication that already took place before your withdrawal.
- If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please tell us at registration or on-site so we can take this into account as far as reasonably possible — at a large public event, we cannot fully guarantee that no participant will ever appear in the background of a wider shot. Once material has been shared by third parties outside our own channels, we cannot guarantee its removal.
7) Cookies
- This website uses only the essential cookies required to process your registration and payment through Stripe Checkout. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this website.
8) Retention period
- We retain your registration data for as long as necessary to organize and run the Competition, plus any period required by applicable statutory retention obligations (for example, German commercial and tax law retention periods of up to 10 years for invoices and related payment records).
9) Your rights
- Subject to the conditions set out in the relevant legal provision, you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), to be informed (Art. 19), data portability (Art. 20), to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)), and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77) GDPR.
- Where we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time to that processing for reasons relating to your particular situation, Art. 21 GDPR.
10) Contact
- To exercise any of the rights above, or with any questions about this policy, please contact us at globalnailmasters@gmail.com.
11) Changes to this policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our processors or to the Competition’s registration process. The version in effect at the time of your registration will be indicated by the “Last updated” date above.
